Dr. Hernández is a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist, and has extensive experience providing psychological services in both school and clinic settings. Dr. Hernández earned her doctorate in School Psychology at Illinois State University. She completed her post-doctoral training at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine within Kennedy Krieger Institute’s outpatient behavior management clinic.

Dr. Hernández specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents with disruptive behaviors such as tantrums, noncompliance, verbal and physical aggression, feeding and toileting concerns, sleep disturbance, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, selective mutism, social skills, attention and hyperactivity/impulsivity concerns (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Dr. Hernández strongly believes in treating each child and family uniquely by employing evidence-based strategies including aspects of Behavioral and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and parent/caregiver training. Dr. Hernández also enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary school teams to promote the success of students of all ages.
